    Hello, I’m trying to overlay text on the landing page’s featured image, but so far all I’ve been able to do is add a title from one of the pages, but it doesn’t allow for centering the text or adding more text. Are you able to help?

    Thanks!

    Scribbles Theme Custom Hero Content

    Laura,

    Welcome on WorP’Dev, I’m Nabil, I’m the WordPress Developer.

    I’ve installed the Scribbles theme locally and was able to do this. Is this what you are looking for?

    Cheers,
    Nabil

    Here is how I did it:

    1. Open the customizer while viewing the homepage (see this image)
    2. Go to Widgets > Hero
    3. Add the widget “Hero Text” with the contents you want (see this image)
    4. Save (click/tap “Publish”)

    For centering the hero area content:

    1. Still on the customizer, but on “Additional CSS”
    2. Add this CSS code:
      .hero .widget{
      	float:none;
      	margin-right: auto;
      	margin-left: auto;
      	width:80%;
      }
    3. Save

    Give it a try and let me know how it goes.

    Cheers,
    Nabil
